Sweetser is known for its recreational opportunities along the Sweetser Switch Trail which allows riders, walkers and bikers to connect with the Cardinal Greenway.
The youth of Sweetser are high performers, and the Oak Hill school district ranks amongst the highest in the state in terms of academic excellence. Sweetser is the home of Courtney Moses, Indiana’s Miss Basketball 2010.
Sweetser’s recently formed Economic Redevelopment Commission is endeavoring to encourage more business development and is constantly seeking new opportunities.
The Town Council is an open minded body and seeks input from citizens every second and fourth Thursday at Town Hall, 113 N. Main Street.
Sweetser is protected by the Pleasant Township Volunteer Fire Department and the Sweetser Police Department.
